194: Have a Mouth Breathing Kid? Listen To This!

by | 4:15 pm | 0 comments

Sleep is a BIG deal! As parents this is ultra-magnified.

What if you had sleep apnea and stopped breathing thousands of time during the night? The effects that would have on your physical health, mental health, and work productivity would be extreme, to say the least. Some of you already know what I'm talking about.

It's estimated that 22 million Americans suffer from sleep apnea. That's a ton of people functioning at 1/4 of their full potential.

What if we could drastically lower that number by simply paying attention to the way our kids breathe?

Of course, you would need to do more than just watch them, you would need to take them to an Ear Nose and Throat specialist like Madan Kandula, MD. Who is doing groundbreaking work to change the statistics and help children and adults with the basic need to… breathe. But It all starts with having an awareness to recognize the symptoms.

In the episode, Dr. Kandula mentioned that mouth breathing can change the shape of the face. Below are a few examples of what he was referring to.
